About the event

Brief summary

The Multi-Faith High-Level Forum aims to enhance collaboration among faith-based and secular

groups to address global crises impacting communities. Established by Religions for Peace,

which has a history of fostering partnerships over 50 years, the forum will take place on March

26-27, 2024, in New York, USA. The event seeks to unite stakeholders in responding to pressing

issues such as health, environmental, and humanitarian crises.

The Multi-Faith High-Level Forum aims to facilitate shared learning among religious leaders,

faith actors, institutions, and technical experts on children's issues leveraging insights from the

FPCC Initiative, exchange best practices in faith engagement to tackle challenges faced by

children, families, and communities while recognizing women of faith's contributions in

advancing multi-religious collaboration, human rights, peace, security, and sustainable

development.

The objective of the forum is to strengthen partnerships in order to address emerging concerns

such as improving primary health services, mitigating planetary crises' impacts, and leveraging

faith-based engagement for conflict resolution. These objectives focus on enhancing knowledge

sharing, fostering collaboration, empowering women of faith, and addressing critical community

issues through strategic partnerships and interventions.

Religions for Peace has a track record of working with organizations like UNICEF, WHO,

UNHCR, and other UN agencies, as well as secular partners, to address global challenges at

various levels. By leveraging the assets of religious leaders and their institutions, joint actions

have been undertaken to tackle common concerns. The partnership between Religions for Peace

and UNICEF, spanning nearly 35 years, has been instrumental in mobilizing faith-based

resources for the benefit of children.

Despite these efforts, vulnerable groups such as children, young people, and women continue to

bear the brunt of crises. The forum recognizes the importance of shared faith-based values and

the mandates of stakeholders in protecting these vulnerable populations. By harnessing the

collective efforts of faith communities and partners, interventions can be made to support

children, families and communities in need.

The forum will serve as a platform for stakeholders to share ideas, resources, and best practices

to advance positive outcomes for those most affected by crises. By fostering collaboration

between faith-based and secular entities, the forum aims to create a more unified and effective

response to the complex challenges facing societies today.
